CLERIC ASKS MUSLIM AAP WORKERS TO AVOID DONNING BROOM-SYMBOL CAP

In a roadblock for Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party, a group of Muslim clerics has asked people belonging to the community to shun putting on AAP cap as it has carries the symbol of ‘broom’, which is against the principle of Muslim Personal Law Board.

Maulana Hasan Ahmed Habibi, Shahi Imam of Shahi Jama Masjid Badshah Bagh in Varanasi, said although a cap happens to be the crown for Muslims but, AAP caps feature the symbol of broom, a tool used for cleaning floors.

Whether it’s the headgear of AAP or SP or any other party using such sort of representation is not acceptable for Muslims, he asserted.
