DHOOM 3 TICKET PRICES SAME AS CHENNAI EXPRESS, SAYS AAMIR KHAN
Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has rubbished the reports of hike in ticket prices by makers and distributors of Dhoom 3, saying that they were same as of Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express, which released earlier this year.
The year’s much-awaited film starring Aamir, Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra and Katrina Kaif and produced by Aditya Chopra, is all set to hit silver screen tomorrow.
There are reports that tickets in multiplexes ranged between Rs 250-500 or even a little more for the action-thriller. And in single screens it ranged from Rs 70-120 and went up till Rs 250-300.
Addressing a press conference in Mumbai, Aamir said, “There is no truth in these reports. The price range of Dhoom 3 tickets is same as what it was for Chennai Express. Not even a per cent increase is there on ticket prices.” He, however, clarified, “The ticket prices change as per shows, like in morning the rates are less, week days the rate is less.”
Dhoom 3 is the first Hindi film to release in IMAX. The ticket prices for the same reportedly range from Rs 400-600 for the morning shows and Rs 700-900 for the night shows. “The only difference is that an Indian film is getting released in IMAX. There are four-five IMAX theatres in India, including two in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
The ticket prices of IMAX theatres are more. I don’t know what are the normal tickets rates in IMAX,” Aamir said.
On contemporary Salman Khan, Bollywood’s Mr Perfectionist said he himself was a big fan of him and was eagerly awaiting release of his film Jai Ho. Salman had grown up as an actor, Aamir said, adding that he had seen a huge change in him in the last few years.
