Manna Dey passes away
Country’s legendary singer and Dada saheb falke award winner Manna Dey died due to cardiac arrest on Thursday. A 94-Year-old singer took his last breath at 3:50 AM at Narayana Hrudayalaya hospital in Bangluru, where he was admitted five months ago for respiratory problems.
Manna Dey is survived by two daughters, one of whom is based in the US. “We are saddened by his loss, but he died peacefully. His last rites will be performe later in the day,” his son-in-law said.
Manna Dey’s body will be kept for public homage at Ravindra Kalakshetra in Bangaluru and his last rites will be performe later in the day.
Dey Born in Kolkata in 1919. He recorded more than 3,500 songs in Hindi and Bengali including romantic ballads, intricate raga-based songs, Qawwalis and fast-paced modern numbers.
People known him for his popular track Poocho Na Kaise Maine, A Meri Zohra Jabeen, Zindagi Kaisi Hai Paheli, Yeh Dosti (sholy) and Ek Chatur Naar (Padosan).
After spending more than fifty years in Mumbai Manna Day was shifted to Bangluru.
