Tehelka Sexual assault case: Goa police questions victim’s friends

Goa Police is likely to interrogate Tarun Tejpal today. On Sunday Goa police began questioning the three friends of the victim who was sexually assaulted by the founder of Tehelka News Magazine, Tarun Tejpal at a Goa resort last week. Earlier on Saturday one team of Goa Police has reached Delhi and questioned magazine’s managing editor Shoma Chaudhary at Tehelka office premises for several Hours. Team of Goa Police reached at Tehelka’s office premises with sleuths of Delhi Police’s Crime Branch, where the Police Team not only questioned Shoma Chaudhary but also scrutinised laptop, ipad and documents of her and also asked her to submit a written statement on the issue. Police also took in their possession the e-mails circulated between the victim, her and Tejpal, the victim and her friends as evidence, according to Police sources. On Saturday victim also revealed that she was being pressurised in the case. She had said that a close associate of Tejpal had met her family and wanted to know what legal actions they were planning to take in this case. She also added that this visit has placed tremendous emotional pressure on my family and I at an intensely traumatic time.
